OK, so i ran 7 miles today -7.1 to be exact. Why is that? You know if your eat 12 cookies you say you had a few cookies but if your run 7.1 you want people to know about the .1
On to more important things...So tomorrow is Sunday - are you going to church? Did you go to church? Gonna be preaching about the power of Praise and Worship - God wants us to be people who want to be in His presence. We must make some effort to get to that place - think Holy of Holies here - I mean we just don't walk into the Holy place with God - we must prepare our hearts, encounter His presence and then be ushered into that amazing, horrifying, magnificent place - check out the sermon on our website next week.
Also, got to Seattle last weekend and got to see some very cool people - Joy and Patrick Black while out there - they were at Horizons but got moved to Seattle - we miss them. It was for the National Association of Mortgage Brokers Annual Convention. - good stuff!
Also - my son Grant is being baptized tonight at our church baptism pool party - it is so cool to see the Lord at work in the life of your kids....
Random thoughts - but talk at you soon - yes, sooner than last time

41 turns of the earth
So monday was my birthday - 41 now - 40 was a big deal in terms of a birthday party - 30 was just a big deal, but 41 is a little ho hum.
The best part was that someone very nice made me pumpkin pie - my kids and wife took me to dinner(does that count when I have to pay?), and lots of people called, sent emails and just generally made me feel good.
So thanks to all of those folks and make sure to call someone and make them feel good- find a way to add some value to the people you care about today.

We are finding who we are
Most of you know I'm an old school rocker. The band KingsX - and yes they have had their problems - on their album Faith, Hope, Love had the title of this blog as a song. Life is full of discovery. One of the great things about our communion with God and others is the illumination that comes out of that experience. I am always amazed at the uniqueness of each person - think about it - everybody looks different, has some special physical characteristic and yet that is only the outside - the superficial. What is special is what's on the inside and what God wants to do with that stuff - the chemistry of who you are emotionally, spiritually and experiential. Just know that the Bible says we are wonderfully and fearfully made and that we are all special, and no I don't mean in the Elf kind of way - I mean we are all truly special
If you have never done a personality assessment - I encourage you to give it a try - Myers Briggs or DISC are two common ones. Then take an honest look at who you are and what God calls you to be. That has been my journey recently. It is amazing what God does with us when we surrender to His plan and His will.
Remember - you ARE SPECIAL AND GOD DOES HAVE A WONDERFUL PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE
