Storm Clouds Passing

It's interesting - life that is. Right outside my window right now - there is a storm that is passing - the dreary, rainy, windy event is leaving and will soon be replaced by the warmth and sunshine that we all crave. At lease I crave warmth and sunshine. My life is in that place at this moment, the storm clouds are parting and the sun is beginning to breakthrough - it's weird but in some ways I am grateful for the storms. But AHH! the wonder and beauty and hope of a time of peace and prosperity. There is a lot that is brewing good for me right now - the business, the church, my family and friends. I appreciate all your prayers and want to encourage you if you are struggling in a storm to know that God will deliver you and that you will feel the warmth of sunshine on your face once again.

I experienced this literally last week as my wife and I went to the Bahamas to celebrate our 19th wedding anniversary. Wow, what a beautiful place and a wonderful time.

For those who read this blog(I know I need to post more often) you will be on the inside track of some great news that I will be able to share soon- check back in a few weeks.

On another front- missed some of my TV shows while away and almost got caught up but here are my thoughts

Heroes - Still my fav show - actually Jay and I are going to do a sermon series on this in the fall - not the show but the concept of how we all are blessed with some special gifts

Lost- why do I keep watching this show - the answer - because every so often they hook you back in with a good show

24 - haven't' seen last episode but the Audrey twist was kinda cool

The Office- OK - but still gotta love shun - unshuned and escape clause

Survivor - Still rooting for Yao Man - but gotta respect the tenacity of Alex

My family is doing great - Morgan scored the only goal in her first game and Grant scored 2 of his teams 4 goals - my daughter Lauren recently won an aware at school and Brooke is preparing for another season of basketball - she will have a camp this summer at High School - did I just use the words Brooke and High School in the same sentence - wow!

OK gotta go - be praying for the upcoming National Day of Prayer services Thursday May 3

Buh Bye

My Secret Week 3 & Easter

The ominous sound of hammers in the hands of believers, slowly at first and then building, in as many as 25 hands at once pounding their secret, their shame, their hurt, their addictions, their past to the cross was amazing. I felt tears of empathy for their pain but also tears of joy at their release. My Secret Week 3 was amazing - thank you for your prayers and for the amazing, freeing power of the Lord present that day.

This past weekend was great as well. Easter Sunday, what a magnificent day to talk about the power of the cross - how the Lord completes us , fills the emptiness of our lives with His power and grace.

It's cold here - someone said it was colder on Easter than it was this past Christmas here in Stafford, VA - wow if that's true - hold on - I'll go check it out and be right back to tell you if it is true - yes and no - December 25th hi/lo was 46/32 and Easter Sunday was 50/30 - so it was a warmer hi but a colder lo - was that fun?

I have some more updates but check back later this week - I will try and get consistent about blogging by the end of each Friday - that's a desire, not a promise

Talk at you soon...
