My Secret - Week 2

Wow! Thanks for all your prayers - we tackled addictions last week and there was some truly amazing response. But not the immediate altar kind of response, more the contemplative, introspective life changing response. Both are good! There is a lesson there, sometimes we deliver a message, it doesn't even have to be preaching, just sharing your thoughts or concerns with a friend and you can walk away and wonder did they get what I was saying. I have seen many times when people need some time to digest your words before they sink in - like during a sermon - sometimes people don't respond the way you would hope in an immediate sense but after they think about it, pray about it, examine their lives and consider how to respond - then they make some decision, change their course, etc.

Anyway - be praying for this week My Secret - Week 3 - My Scars - truly trusting God for some breakthrough in people's lives, freedom, healing, restoration.

Where is my guitar - now I have been told that it will come in April - patience is a virtue - right?

OK so to test to see if anyone reads my blog - I got a ticket today - failure to obey a traffic sign - basically I ran a stop sign - I feel horrible about it; but also this breaks my record of not having a ticket in the past 15-16 years. So i need to pay better attention.

Life - it has its ups and downs right now - guess life is like that - but enough of grey days - ready for some bright and sunny days - maybe the change in seasons will bring those better days. But as I think about it - normally these kinds of experiences would lead to some depression - yeah I fight that sometimes - but I truly have felt God's sustaining grace during this season - What an awesome God we serve.

Secrets Week 1

So thanks to all you folks who have prayed for the sermon series - My Secret - week 1 was awesome. Appreciate the feedback I have been receiving and hope we all continue to contemplate being truth tellers - not to get to preachy - but we know that if we seek and speak the truth then we can experience freedom in our lives - telling lies - whether occasionally, often or even if we are living a lie only leads to bondage, conflict and a lack of trust from others - so let's confess to God for forgiveness and to others for healing to move forward and live a life as a truth teller and truths seeker.

OK - so this Sunday we are going to deal with addictions head on so stay tuned for the update from week 2

Survivor - there is no way Rocky makes it much further - please, but what about Lise just basically wanting to quit - not digging that too much - was hoping Jeff would just send her packing

Lost - please - bring this show to a close - I mean how many unanswered questions can we endure - now a blown up submarine

Life

Where is my guitar - so I ordered a PRS guitar about 14 mos. ago and it was supposed to be in March 8th - umm it's March 22nd - patience is a virtue

My kids and wife are awesome- really - lots of fun and extremely patient and understanding and giving to me - I pray that I continue to be a good Dad and Husband to them - as life has been a little crazy for a season - so confession time - I need to get my hours down and start taking a little time off- no need for burnout...

Where I Have Been

Hey There,

Sorry, I was away - not like on vacation or in prison - just away - as in not here. But now I'm back - I bet your excited :)

So to debrief:

Rocked the House during worship last Sunday - i.e. got to play the guitar after a long hiatus form the worship team - it was a blast and my wife sang awesome - but more importantly, people really participated in and were ministered to during worship at our service last Sunday.

Jay is OK - the guy I co-pastor with was in the hospital last weekend with chest pains, but turns out he is fine - appears to be a low potassium issue

Got to preach - wasn't expecting to but with Jay in the hospital -got to preach about being a playmaker - living by the fundamentals.

Business - wow! it's tough in our industry right now, but we are doing ok

TV Shows -

Lost - jumped the shark a long time ago
24 - Jack be nimble, Jack be quick - he sure does get a lot done in a day - but still OK
Survivor - been there done that
Idol - ? not watching
Heroes - YEAH! What a fun show-

Most importantly, although there is a real sense of struggle right now - the Bible tells us that we are assured of victory. Appreciate your prayers - please be praying for the upcoming sermon series - My Secret beginning March 18
